WHAT IS CLEAN-CRAFTED WINE?
Wine is a tricky business, because when it comes to their growth cycle, grapes tend to march to the beat of their own drum. Their natural flavor, colors and lifespan almost always vary across vines, which makes capturing and establishing sameness exhaustive and difficult. The advent of pesticides, chemical additives and sugars provided a way for producers to get around the natural unpredictability and promote wine that tastes the same, bottle after bottle, year after year. This also made it possible to hide flaws that may exist in those bottles, like bacteria and other unpleasant elements. Unfortunately, wineries rely on pesticides, additives and added sweeteners, which means chemically altered, completely unnatural wine is now the norm. We’re here to offer a cleaner, healthier, altogether better wine experience to everyone.
In order for a wine to be considered clean-crafted it must meet the following requirements:
– Grown naturally with NO synthetic pesticides
– Sustainable, organic, and or biodynamic farming methods
– Most harvested from OLD growth vines
– Wildly delicious and always DISTINCTIVE
– Tended by actual PEOPLE and NOT mass-produced by industrial agricultural methods
– Vinified BY HAND, not manufactured in a lab
– ZERO GRAMS ADDED SUGAR
– ZERO added chemicals
– Slow crafted to extract naturally occurring antioxidants
– LOW sulfites
-Independently LAB TESTED

Sarah Shadonix (use to be an attorney) became a Level 3 sommelier and worked for 4 e-commerce companies as a wine expert. She started drinking very high-end wines and started getting headaches. She discovered it was the wine and all the additives, chemicals and preservatives that are added in wines.
So she started her own company, Scout & Cellar, finding small wineries making wine the slow crafted clean way. Grown naturally and bottled consciously with zero added sugars, no GMOs, none of the 250 FDA approved additives, under 100ppm of sulfites, no synthetic pesticides and very delicious.
Scout & Cellar is about quality…nothing added, nothing taken out. So, that’s why I drink and sell S&C wine.
